Both Larnaca and Paphos International airports are fully accessible for Disabled
Persons and Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM) for arrival, departure and
transit.
Facilities include:
Airline companies usually allow for free transportation of a foldable
wheelchair. You should be able to use your wheelchair until reaching the
aircraft and thereafter it will be stored in the aircrafts luggage compartments.
Otherwise, you could check your wheelchair together with your luggage and use
the airport’s wheelchair service to assist you reaching the aircraft.
Passengers using electric driven wheelchairs are advised to contact their
airline company in advance and enquire about the relevant procedure.
Additionally, we recommend checking whether wheelchair damage while on holiday
is covered by insurance.
Please carry your medication on board the aircraft in a hand luggage. This will
ensure that your medication will be constantly available, even in the rare event
where your luggage goes missing. For safety reasons and due to airport
restrictions, security staff may require to examine any liquid medication you
are carrying on board the aircraft, so it is advisable that you arrive at the
airport early enough.
Important: You are required to carry any liquid medication in its original
packaging and to present a copy of its prescription along with a
letter/certificate from your doctor or medical advisor, describing the
medication and any other medical items you may carry, and explaining that they
are necessary for your trip.
Some airlines may allow an extra bag containing medical supplies to be stored
free of charge in the aircraft’s compartment, when this is accompanied by a
doctor’s certificate.
